Big Ideas

Students will be able to make connections to some of the most important world issues and the problems that face each world region.

3 Day Goals

  1. Students will understand key vocabulary for World History. Population density, Birth rate, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Infant Mortality, Life expectancy, & Human Development Index (HDI)
  2. Students will be able to understand how world issues affect particular regions.

Methods:

  1. Students will engage in a pre-class activity to name problems in the world. (Background knowledge)
  2. Students will discuss world issues through guided Power Point notes. (Guided Notes/Discussion) Miniature Earth Video
  3. Students will engage in a role playing activity to make issues more realistic (Food For Thought Activity.pdf) (Role playing/ Physical Engagement)
